Paola Cenci is from Perugia Italy.
She does not feel tied to any specific style, she invents her own techniques to express herself in very different ways.
She credits the varied cultural and ethnic influences she experienced living in different places; Pisa, Florence and Rome as well as living abroad in Germany and Belgium, with giving her a more imaginative and experimental approach to her art.
Her textured paintings evolved from her artistic need to physically "feel" the picture., her paintings on wood are created with a techinique she invented, which results in a " design" object of art.
Throughout her development, Paola has never abandoned her other styles, including the more classical naif.
The most recent and mature creations find expression in the series "Striped" where the artist using a colorful and powerful contrast of lines, contrasts that underline masculinity and femininity, wondering what kind of power can be developed in a situation of aesthetic "captivity".
Her later Deep Lines Series is a new challenge for the artist. With this unique technique the lines are becoming tridimensional as they are carved in the canvas.
Acrylic colors and epoxy resin matte finish, vibrant and dynamic lines, bold shades and fluid forms, enhance the artwork’s elegance.
Paola lives and works now in Bruxelles.
