The title of this painting is "Angel's Wood".
It represents the place where an angel rests. The trees with their entangled branches overhead, remind us of the complexities of life through which the angel helps us. They are stark and rough, applied by spatula in coloured plasters giving them a textured and three dimensional sculptural quality.
The background colours in contrast are soft and relaxing, evoking calmness and serenity. The tree trunks beneath bring more order as they descend to the ground in the stronger calmer colours which now dominate. Of course the angel cannot be seen but is present.
