To create these distinctive paintings with their signature striping in wood, is a long and complicated process. The artist first drawn a sketch, where possible using a live model.
Strips of wood are then carefully shaped to fit the layout and perspective of the whole painting, their surface are then prepared to a very hight quality finish before being painted and incorporated into the completed painting.
The painting's colours are chosen to add to the visual impact of the painting's subject matter.
The particular originality of this technique is that without it being a traditional drawning, the artist has succeded brilliantly in capturing the form of the subject.
