Paola Cenci is from Perugia, Italy.
She does not confine herself to any single style, instead inventing unique techniques to express her creativity in diverse ways.
Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural and ethnic influences she encountered living in Pisa, Florence, Rome, as well as abroad in Germany and Belgium, Paola embraces a highly imaginative and experimental approach to her art.
Her textured paintings stem from a deep artistic desire to physically “feel” the artwork. Her creations on wood employ a technique she developed herself, transforming each piece into a distinctive designed object of art.
Throughout her artistic journey, Paola has also maintained her connection to other styles, including the more classical naïve.
Her most recent and refined works are showcased in the “Striped” series, where she uses vibrant, contrasting lines to explore themes of masculinity and femininity, pondering the power that can emerge from a state of aesthetic “captivity.”
The later “Deep Lines” series marks a fresh challenge for Paola. Using a unique technique, she carves tridimensional lines directly into the canvas.
With acrylic colors and a matte epoxy resin finish, her dynamic lines, bold hues, and fluid forms amplify the elegance of each piece.
Paola currently lives and works in Brussels.
