Solo Exhibition — S.H.A.P.E. International Library, NATO Base, Mons, 2012
From 9 March to 30 April 2012, Paola Cenci held a solo exhibition at the International Library of S.H.A.P.E. — the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe — the NATO military headquarters located in Mons, Belgium.
At the time of the exhibition, Paola was living within the S.H.A.P.E. community, immersed in the vibrant and multicultural life of this unique NATO headquarters. Surrounded by military personnel, diplomats and families from across the Allied nations, she found in this international environment a rich source of inspiration and human connection that deeply influenced her artistic practice.
The exhibition was a natural expression of that experience — a chance to share her paintings with the very community she was part of. Her works — spanning textural paintings, striped compositions and pieces on wood — brought colour, creativity and Italian artistic sensibility into the heart of one of the world’s most strategically significant institutions.
The exhibition remained open for nearly two months, allowing the diverse international community at S.H.A.P.E. to discover and enjoy her art at their own pace.
